The first Festival in 2013 was financially supported by the GEF Small Grants Programme via the Garden of Orpheus project and Culture 2007-2013 Programme of the European Commission via the Wildflower Europe project of Plantlife International. This is a unique project celebrating the cultural heritage of both our wildflowers and the rural communities which have helped to keep them as part of our landscapes. The project has three main elements – the Patchwork Meadow, annual wildflower festivals in Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Slovenia and Scotland, developing community history archives.
The third edition of the Festival in 2015 is financed by the Smolyan Municipality (750 euro), Environmental Organization – Rhodope and with the own resources of the local Community Centres. For the most of the events we also rely on the participants donation.
